Jesuit had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They claimed a resounding 57-7 win over the Brandon Eagles. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-0.

Jesuit's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Griffin, who threw for 208 yards and four TDs on perfect 12-for-12 passing. Griffin has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Hezekiah Davis helped Griffin out on the ground, rushing for 27 yards and a pair of scores, while also picking up 39 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Jesuit proved: they limited Brandon to a paltry 1.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Rashaun Fitts Jr. for the heroic effort on defense: he. Jesuit's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.62 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 9.97 on average over their last five games.

Jesuit's defense didn't let Caleb Cole, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Fitts Jr., Colton Haywood, and Nolan Dooly, who each picked up one sack apiece. Fitts Jr. was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.

Jesuit's record now sits at 7-1. As for Brandon, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Jesuit has already played their next matchup, a 69-6 win against Hillsborough on the 24th. As for Brandon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-0 loss against Middleton on the 24th.
