Football Recap: James River Midlothian Takes a Loss

James River Midlothian extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 5-5. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 21-15 heartbreaker at the hands of the L.C. Bird Skyhawks. The Rapids lost against the Skyhawks in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 31-0 score last time.

As for L.C. Bird, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.0 points on average over those games.

Tyrell Allen was his usual excellent self, rushing for 174 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 107 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Rodkize Bolling, who rushed for 71 yards and one touchdown.

James River Midlothian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for L.C. Bird, they will welcome Western Branch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
