Volleyball Recap: Madison Bulldogs vs. Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies
Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 2-0.
Madison actually scored more points across those five sets (109-93), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 11-25, 25-23, 27-25, 15-25, 15-11.
Lydia Nelson paced Madison's offense, picking up 26 kills. Nelson got some help from Karley Theede C and her 59 assists. Nelson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Elk Point-Jefferson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-16.
