Volleyball Game Preview: Alton Redbirds vs. Belleville East Lancers

Alton is 0-10 against Belleville East since August of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Redbirds are taking a road trip to face off against the Lancers at 6:00 p.m.

On Thursday, Alton came up short against Collinsville and fell 2-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Belleville East hadn't done well against O'Fallon recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lancers walked away with a 2-0 win over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lancers.

Belleville East not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept O'Fallon between 17 and 18 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18.

Belleville East's record now sits at 27-8. As for Alton, their loss dropped their record down to 9-24.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Alton has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Belleville East struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
