Volleyball Recap: Eunice Comes Up Short

Eunice was the 3-0 winner over Jal when they last played one another back in October, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals came up short against the Panthers on Tuesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cardinals have suffered against the Panthers since August 25, 2023.

Eunice was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-22, 25-22.

This is the second loss in a row for Eunice and nudges their season record down to 11-11. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 13-7 Texico (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62% over those games). As for Jal, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Eunice will challenge rival Tatum at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Jal is set to face off against their familiar foe Texico at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
