Football Game Preview: Shallowater Mustangs vs. Peaster Greyhounds + How To Watch

The Shallowater Mustangs will take on the Peaster Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Shallowater is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They breezed past Brownfield to the tune of 60-0. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Cubs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Byron Carreon had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 120 yards and two TDs on only five carries. Those 120 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Daniel Rideout also helped with two scores in total.

Meanwhile, Peaster got themselves on the board against Sweetwater on Friday, but Sweetwater never followed suit. They took their game with ease, bagging a 31-0 victory over the Mustangs. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Greyhounds' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Mustangs are ranked 410th).

Peaster found their leader in sophomore Hudson Salyers, who rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns.

Shallowater's record is now 8-3. As for Peaster, their record now sits at 10-1.

Shallowater took their win against Peaster when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 41-21 score. In that contest, the Mustangs amassed a halftime lead of 31-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
