Volleyball Game Preview: Woodland Park Panthers vs. Salida Spartans + How To Watch

The Woodland Park Panthers will challenge the Salida Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

On Thursday, Woodland Park made easy work of St. Mary's and carried off a 3-0 victory.

While Woodland Park won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-13, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Salida got the win against James Irwin on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Salida never let James Irwin on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-22, 25-7.

Salida had a senior duo take command as Madisyn Wilcox had four digs and four aces and Cooper Fisher had five digs and three aces. Wilcox has been hot for a while, having also posted 13 or more assists the last ten times she's played.

Salida was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in eight consecutive matches.

Salida's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Woodland Park, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Woodland Park suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Salida in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Panthers, Cedar Lengrich (who had ten digs and four aces) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
