Basketball Game Preview: Flanagan Falcons vs. Plantation Colonels

Having just played yesterday, the Flanagan Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Plantation Colonels at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Flanagan is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 86-38, which was the final score in Flanagan's tilt against Miramar on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 454th, while the Patriots are ranked 80th).

Meanwhile, Plantation was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 73-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Everglades.

Flanagan will have to contain Jabari Washington as he made an impact in Plantation's last game. He dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 boards. With that strong performance, Washington is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. Malaki LeGrande was another key player, putting up seven points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Plantation smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Plantation's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Flanagan, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Flanagan was taken down by Plantation 84-29 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Thankfully for Flanagan, Daterrius Heller (who posted 22 points along with eight steals and five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
