Soccer Recap: Yazoo County Comes Up Short

If Yazoo County was feeling good fresh off their 15-1 takedown of Kosciusko on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers lost 6-2 to the Canton Tigers on Tuesday. Yazoo County were not able to make up for their defeat to Canton from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Yazoo County's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Canton, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Yazoo County will head out to challenge Winona at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Canton, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Vicksburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canton will be up against Vicksburg's rather soft defense (which has allowed four goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
