Football Game Preview: Largo Lions vs. Friendly Patriots + Official Tickets

The Largo Lions will take on the Friendly Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Largo will be strutting in after a victory while Friendly will be coming in after a defeat.

Largo is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Surrattsville: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Lions blew the Hornets out of the water with a 46-6 final score. Considering the Lions have won four games by more than 32 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Largo can attribute much of their success to Akeem Jervis, who threw for 177 yards and two TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and Tymond Foxx, who rushed for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries. Those two passing touchdowns gave Jervis a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Largo was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. They are 4-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Largo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nijel Trice and Amir Belton. Largo got some further help from Kevonte Howard: he picked up two sacks and made ten total tackles.

Meanwhile, Friendly fell victim to Gwynn Park and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Yellowjackets 38-0. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Friendly's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Largo, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Largo didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Friendly in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 30-26 victory.
