Game recap: Shenandoah High School Football Team bests Indianapolis Broad Ripple

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Shenandoah (Middletown, Ind.) put up 24 points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 49-6 victory over Indianapolis Broad Ripple (Indianapolis, Ind.).

After taking the lead on a touchdown in the second quarter, the Raiders led 6-0 at the half.

Shenandoah grew its lead to 13 points entering the fourth quarter. SHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown.

Lane Young and JJ Myers ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Rockets. Young scored two touchdowns on the ground and Myers added three as well.

Indianapolis Broad Ripple's only touchdown came on an 80-yard kick return by Camorrie Shittu in the fourth quarter.



Coming into the game the Middletown school had allowed 22.7 points per game this year. The Raiders held firm on the defensive front, and kept Indianapolis Broad Ripple well below the 20.2 points it had been averaging per game.

The victory was a step in the right direction for Shenandoah, which was coming off a 63-35 defeat at the hands of Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter in its previous game. The loss comes after Indianapolis Broad Ripple defeated Trinity Lutheran 70-22 last week. The victory snapped Shenandoah's two-game losing streak.
