Soccer Game Preview: Bowie vs. South Grand Prairie

Bowie hasn't had much luck against South Grand Prairie recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bowie Volunteers will face off against the South Grand Prairie Warriors at 7:00 p.m.

Bowie is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Lamar, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Volunteers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 643rd, while the Vikings are ranked 138th).

Meanwhile, South Grand Prairie was able to grind out a solid victory over Haltom on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Buffalos recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Bowie's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for South Grand Prairie, their record now sits at 4-2.

Bowie suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to South Grand Prairie in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Bowie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
