Volleyball Recap: Hialeah-Miami Lakes Has No Trouble Against Mourning

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Braddock, Hialeah-Miami Lakes was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Mourning Sharks with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-10, 25-13.

Despite the defeat, Mourning saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Matthew Figueroa had 11 digs.

The win got Hialeah-Miami Lakes back to even at 2-2. As for Mourning, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Hialeah-Miami Lakes will venture away from home to square off against Hialeah at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hialeah will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Hialeah-Miami Lakes surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mourning, they will square off against Monsignor Pace at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
