Basketball Game Preview: Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers vs. Eastside Blazers

The Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers will head out on the road to square off against the Eastside Blazers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Fort Wayne Canterbury can't be too happy about their upcoming road matchup considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to Bellmont. While the Cavaliers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Braves 18-10 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Eastside made easy work of Smith Academy on Wednesday and carried off a 61-35 win. The victory continues a trend for the Blazers in their matchups with the Fighting 54th: they've now won four in a row.

Fort Wayne Canterbury better keep an eye on Nolan Baker. He was instrumental in Eastside's win, going 8-for-12 en route to 19 points along with seven boards and five blocks. Another player making a difference was Quentin Dickerhoff, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks.

Fort Wayne Canterbury beat Eastside 58-46 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
