Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Christoval

Christoval proved they can win big last Monday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Harper Longhorns 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since February 28th.

Christoval's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ty Debusk, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Debusk is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Blaze Webber was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Christoval's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Harper, they moved to 8-4 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Christoval will square off against Sonora at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Harper, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Junction at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
