Baseball Recap: Taylorsville Has No Trouble Against Kearns

Taylorsville won the last time they faced Kearns and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Warriors put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 12-2 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Logan Bertagnolli made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Taylorsville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaac Woolley, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Holden Cottle, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Taylorsville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kearns struck out seven times.

The victory made it two in a row for Taylorsville and bumps their season record up to 5-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Kearns, they dropped their record down to 0-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Taylorsville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
