Volleyball Recap: Doniphan-Trumbull Takes a Loss

Doniphan-Trumbull suffered their biggest defeat since October 24, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the St. Cecilia Bluehawks. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bluehawks when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-18, 25-13.

Charlee Richter paced Doniphan-Trumbull's offense, picking up 11 kills. Richter got some help from Lily Elsbury and her eight assists. Laini Rath controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Doniphan-Trumbull has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for St. Cecilia, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5.

Coming up, Doniphan-Trumbull will challenge Ravenna on Tuesday. As for St. Cecilia, they will square off against Sutton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
