Volleyball Recap: Arrupe Jesuit Takes a Loss

Arrupe Jesuit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Mountain View Mountain Lions, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-17, 25-14.

Diego Hernandez paced Arrupe Jesuit's offense, picking up five kills. Hernandez got some help from Victor Minjarez and his five assists. Hernandez also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Juan Vargas Sifuente, racking up two apiece.

Caleb Escalle was nothing short of spectacular for Mountain View: he had 24 digs and one assist. Those 24 digs gave Escalle a new career-high.

Arrupe Jesuit's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Mountain View, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-5.

Arrupe Jesuit wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Severance on the 1st. As for Mountain View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Fort Lupton on the 1st.
