Baseball Game Preview: Annawan-Wethersfield Titans vs. Mercer County Golden Eagles

The Annawan-Wethersfield Titans will face off against the Mercer County Golden Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Annawan-Wethersfield is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Abingdon/Avon on Tuesday. They came up short against the Tornadoes, falling 11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Titans have suffered since May 5th.

Maddux Heitzler was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. He has become a key player for Annawan-Wethersfield: the team is 10-3 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-9 otherwise.
