Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Trinity Prep

Trinity Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 38-32 W against the Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy Cougars. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Trinity Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Leonie Muth, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 16 points and eight rebounds. Muth is becoming a predictor of the Crusaders' success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is undefeated (and 3-5 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Avigail McDonald, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards.

Trinity Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Trinity Prep now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Trinity Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Rio Lindo Adventist at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday. The Spartans' defense has only allowed 28.5 points per game this season, so the Crusaders' offense will have their work cut out for them. Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
