Softball Recap: Quincy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Grandview

Quincy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 21 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-19 in the process. They came up short against the Grandview Greyhounds, falling 22-12. On the bright side, the 12- run effort marked the Jackrabbits' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Quincy got a massive performance out of Amy Buenrostro, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Myka Hinojosa was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for Grandview, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12-2. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

On Grandview's side, Aileen Ledesma was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave Ledesma a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brenna Snyder, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

While Quincy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
