Williston has won six straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Suwannee has won six straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Williston Red Devils will welcome the Suwannee Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Williston's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Suwannee's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Tuesday, Williston didn't have quite enough to beat Santa Fe and fell 7-6. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Luna Asencion was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. Kaelyn Williams also deserves some recognition as she stole her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Suwannee beat Gainesville 5-2 on Tuesday.
Gracie Watley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Brianna Woods was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
Suwannee hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gainesville struck out six times.
Williston's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Suwannee, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Williston has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Suwannee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
