Volleyball Recap: Sullivan Eagles vs. Union Wildcats
If Sullivan was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Owensville last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sullivan Eagles lost 3-0 to the Union Wildcats on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as their game on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
While Sullivan ultimately came up short, they really made Union work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 28-26, 25-16.
Despite the loss, Sullivan saw an underclassman step up: Andi Giebler had 16 digs.
Mikah Williford was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 16 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in the last eight games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kordylia Durham, who had ten digs.
Sullivan now has a losing record at 13-14-1. As for Union, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 26-3-2.
