Basketball Game Preview: East Henderson Eagles vs. Brevard Blue Devils

The East Henderson Eagles will face off against the Brevard Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. East Henderson is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

It was a Battle of the Birds when East Henderson faced off against West Henderson on Friday. East Henderson received a blow as they fell 55-38 to West Henderson. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while the Falcons are ranked 171st).

Despite their loss, East Henderson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mamie Hill, who posted ten points and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Hill is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bridgette Kelly, who earned five points.

Meanwhile, Brevard had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 41-36 win over R-S Central on Tuesday.

East Henderson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Brevard, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.

Everything went East Henderson's way against Brevard when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as East Henderson made off with a 50-26 win. Does East Henderson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brevard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
