Basketball Recap: Nunamiut's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After a string of four wins, Nunamiut's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 75-65 to Non Varsity Tournament Opponent. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (56), the Amaguq still had to take the loss.

Several Amaguq players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Justus Mulcahy, who posted 11 points and five steals. Mulcahy is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alexander Galloso, who earned 15 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Nunamiut's loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Nunamiut will challenge Nuiqsut Trapper at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Nunamiut knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Nuiqsut Trapper likes a good challenge. Non Varsity Tournament Opponent has already played their next game (against Veritas Collegiate Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
