Volleyball Recap: Wamego Takes a Loss

Wamego lost against Riley County back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Red Raiders fell 2-0 to the Falcons.

Wamego might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Riley County: every set was decided by exactly three points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22.

Lexi Hecht paced Wamego's offense, picking up eight kills. Hecht got some help from Marie McVay and her 12 assists.

Wamego has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season. As for Riley County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Wamego didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Nemaha Central on the 27th. As for Riley County, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Rock Creek on the 27th.
