Baseball Recap: New Roads Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

New Roads barely beat Lennox Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jaguars never let the Panthers get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Jaguars also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Not much got past Xavier Walker, who gave up just a hit to keep Lennox Academy off the board.

On the hitting side, Donovan Eastwood was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Asamino Spong was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

New Roads always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

New Roads pushed their record up to 13-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lennox Academy, they moved to 9-11 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

New Roads will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
