Pius XI Catholic had to endure a six-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Waukesha South/North on Wednesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Popes not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 27th (when they won 3-0).

Pius XI Catholic never let Waukesha South/North on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-11, 25-19.

Ben Ballard paced Pius XI Catholic's offense, picking up 18 kills. Ballard were helped by Finley Roney and Finnley Beecham, who contributed 12 assists each. Morgan Gillitzer controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Pius XI Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Waukesha South/North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Pius XI Catholic and Greendale will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Waukesha South/North has already played their next matchup (against Madison Memorial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
