Softball Recap: West End Patriots vs. Oneonta Redskins

West End won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune in their second game on Friday. They fell victim to a tough 11-1 loss at the hands of the Oneonta Redskins. West End was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Oneonta apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played two weeks ago.

West End saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daleigha Wheeler, who went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

On Oneonta's side, they got a big performance out of Desz Fredrick, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Millie Simmons was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

West End's loss dropped their record down to 16-7-1. As for Oneonta, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-17-1.

West End is on the road again on Saturday to play Pennington at 10:30 a.m. West End hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse. As for Oneonta, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cold Springs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Oneonta will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
