Basketball Recap: Harmony Twito Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Queen Creek

Sahuaro won the last time they faced Queen Creek and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cougars took down the Bulldogs 49-30.

Sahuaro's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Harmony Twito, who shot 60% from the field on her way to 14 points and four steals. That's the most points Twito has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Anissa Garcia, who had 11 points along with five boards and five steals.

Sahuaro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Queen Creek saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Amaya Rodgers scored 14 points. That was a full 46.7% of the Bulldogs' points, marking the fourth time in a row Rodgers has earned more than a third of the team's points. Isabella Motter was another key player, putting up seven points.

Sahuaro's record is now 3-1. As for Queen Creek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Sahuaro has already played their next matchup, a 60-30 victory against Rincon/University on the 25th. As for Queen Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-37 win against Poston Butte on the 25th.
