Basketball Recap: Blue Hill's Loss Ends Nine-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Blue Hill was riding high fresh off their 58-19 takedown of Giltner last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Hill Bobcats took a 33-19 bruising from the Silver Lake Mustangs on Friday. It was the first time this season that the Bobcats let down their fans at home.

When it comes to explaining why Blue Hill lost, don't look at Reece Mlady. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards. Mlady is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Silver Lake to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makenna Karr, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds. Sophie Schmidt was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight rebounds.

Blue Hill's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5. As for Silver Lake, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Blue Hill will take on Gibbon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Hill is facing Gibbon at the right time seeing as Gibbon is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Silver Lake, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 48-23 win against Heartland Lutheran on the 11th.
