Football Recap: Northern Lebanon Falls Despite Big Games from Ryan Clemmer and Bryan Mitzel

Northern Lebanon extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They lost 56-31 to the Octorara Area Braves. Even if the Vikings couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Northern Lebanon's loss came despite strong showings from Bryan Mitzel and Ryan Clemmer. Mitzel threw for 239 yards and five touchdowns, while Clemmer picked up 145 receiving yards and three TDs. Clemmer was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 55 yards.

As for Octorara Area, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-4 record. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Mason Prokay had a dynamite game, throwing for 166 yards and three TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punching in a pair of scores on the ground. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending two passes.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Northern Lebanon will head out to face off against Daniel Boone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Octorara Area, they will venture away from home to take on Wyomissing at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Braves will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests.
