Basketball Recap: Union Falls Despite Big Games from Payzlei Parrish and Kinsley Tibbetts

Union lost against North Summit back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars came up short against the Braves, falling 48-28.

Union's loss came despite strong showings from Kinsley Tibbetts and Payzlei Parrish. Tibbetts posted four points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Parrish had 11 points.

North Summit was led to victory by Kate Smith and Ellie Stephens. Smith shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds, while Stephens dropped a double-double with 18 points and 17 boards. Those ten rebounds gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chayden Sargent, who put up four points along with six assists and five steals.

Union's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Union wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-24 win against Grand County on the 20th. As for North Summit, they have also already played their next matchup, a 56-46 victory against Emery on the 22nd.
