Soccer Game Preview: Canterbury vs. Bonita Springs

The Canterbury Cougars are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on the Bonita Springs Bullsharks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canterbury will be strutting in after a victory while Bonita Springs will be coming in after a defeat.

Canterbury had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the eight-goal drubbing they dealt Cape Coral on Tuesday. The Cougars never let the Seahawks get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. It was an even better day for Mia Accola as she scored four goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Bonita Springs' offense. They came up short against Mariner on Monday, falling 9-0.

Bonita Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Canterbury, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Everything went Canterbury's way against Bonita Springs in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as Canterbury made off with an 8-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
