Christian took a 37-point defeat the last time they faced off against Scripps Ranch, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Patriots slipped by the Falcons 16-15 on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

A big part of Christian's win came down to the chemistry between Kaleb Runkle and his top target Kai Rosier. Runkle threw for 171 yards and one touchdown while Rosier picked up 86 receiving yards and one TD. Christian also relied on Rosier, who's 51-yard boot wound up being the difference in the game.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed ten in total. All came from Steven Benson: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points and added another on an extra point kick.

Despite the loss, Scripps Ranch still got an impressive performance from Malachi Sayles, who rushed for 101 yards and one score.

Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Scripps Ranch, they moved to 4-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Christian will head out to square off against St. Augustine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Scripps Ranch, they will venture away from home to face off against Cathedral Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
