Basketball Game Preview: Alpaugh Buffalos vs. Woodlake Tigers

The Alpaugh Buffalos are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the Woodlake Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Alpaugh is leaving town to face Woodlake after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Buffalos fell 54-43 to Maricopa last Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Buffalos in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost three in a row.

The losing side was boosted by Richard Luna, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Angel Alfaro, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Woodlake faced off against Wonderful College Prep Academy on Wednesday. The Tigers took down the Lions 56-39. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Woodlake found their leader in sophomore Danny Rodriguez, who scored 15 points. Ayden Lopez was another key player, putting up ten points.

Alpaugh couldn't quite finish off Woodlake in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 and fell 38-35. Can the Buffalos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
