After flying high against Bloomfield Hills last Tuesday, Ferndale came back down to earth. The Ferndale Eagles took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Powers Catholic Chargers on Saturday. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Ferndale still got an impressive performance from Iyana Davis, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Davis is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ma'Lia Taylor, who posted eight points.
Powers Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evah Smith, who went 10 of 14 on her way to 20 points. Another player making a difference was Paige Ringwelski, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds.
