Metamora is 9-1 against Pekin since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Metamora Redbirds will host the Pekin Dragons at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Metamora's favor as the team sits on 18 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Pekin has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

On Saturday, Metamora was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 66-62 to Normal Community.

Meanwhile, Pekin suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2024 on Friday. They lost 70-46 to Morton. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Potters are ranked ninth).

Metamora's defeat dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Pekin, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Metamora strolled past Pekin when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 61-46. Will Metamora repeat their success, or does Pekin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
