Volleyball Recap: Thunder Ridge Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Rigby

Thunder Ridge faced Rigby in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Titans came up short against the Trojans, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost seven in a row.

Gabby Grover paced Thunder Ridge's offense, picking up nine kills. Grover got some help from Avery Kunz and her 22 assists. Jeslynn Furniss controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Breleigh Youngstrom went supernova For Rigby., getting 22 digs and one assist. Youngstrom is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 20 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brinley Larsen, who had nine digs and two aces.

Thunder Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 16-18. As for Rigby, their win bumped their record up to 32-8.

Thunder Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rigby, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Coeur d'Alene on the 30th.
