Volleyball Game Preview: Hinkley Thunder vs. Regis Groff Fusion

Hinkley is 0-3 against Regis Groff since April of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Thunder will challenge the Fusion at 6:30 p.m.

Hinkley managed to slip by Denver East the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Thunder came up short against the Angels on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Thunder have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Denver East scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19, 25-17.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Regis Groff sidestepped Thomas Jefferson for a 3-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Fusion.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Regis Groff got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 20-25, 25-19, 20-25, 15-10.

Regis Groff's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Hinkley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Hinkley suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Regis Groff in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Thunder avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
