Volleyball Recap: Nevada Union Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Nevada Union can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Christian Brothers Falcons on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Miners in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost seven in a row.

Ashley Thompson paced Nevada Union's offense, picking up ten kills. Thompson got some help from Ashlyn Lampe and her 14 assists. Thompson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Leading Christian Brothers to victory were Isabella Alvarez and Naomi Lemos. Alvarez had 13 digs, while Lemos had 20 assists and three digs. With that strong performance, Lemos is now averaging an impressive 12.2 assists per game.

Nevada Union's defeat dropped their record down to 23-18. As for Christian Brothers, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-14.

Nevada Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Christian Brothers, they will face off against Ripon Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
