Volleyball Game Preview: El Camino Wildcats vs. Olympian Eagles

The El Camino Wildcats will take on the Olympian Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as El Camino comes in on three and Olympian on nine.

El Camino is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Grossmont as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

El Camino walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-15.

Among those leading the charge was Makayla Boone, who had 15 digs and three assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September.

El Camino was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in eight consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Olympian beat Foothills Christian 3-1 on Wednesday.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (93-85) Olympian actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-23, 10-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Olympian's victory bumped their record up to 22-15. As for El Camino, their win bumped their record up to 30-11.

El Camino skirted past Olympian 2-1 in their previous meeting back in September. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
