Baseball Game Preview: NorthWood Panthers vs. La Porte Slicers

The NorthWood Panthers will challenge the La Porte Slicers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games NorthWood has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Friday, NorthWood didn't have quite enough to beat Plymouth and fell 2-1. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

NorthWood saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Bogan, who went 2-for-6 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, La Porte's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against New Prairie, falling 8-1.

Logan Hay spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

NorthWood has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for La Porte, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
