Football Recap: Lampasas Gets the Win

While Lampasas's victory against Chaparral wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Badgers won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Bobcats 13-12. The Badgers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bobcats on Friday, too.

Bryson Roberts threw for 145 yards on 14 of 22 attempts. Jaden McElwain was his top target, picking up 63 receiving yards. On the ground, KJ Reed rushed for 92 yards.

The win (which was Lampasas' third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.7 points on average this season. As for Chaparral, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Lampasas wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 31-24 win against Wimberley on the 19th. As for Chaparral, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cedar Park at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th. This will be the Bobcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
