Baseball Recap: Augusta Prep Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Augusta Prep had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 10-10 to make it four. They came up short against the Westminster Christian Academy Lions, falling 9-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 back in March.

Scott Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Austin Luke was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

As for Westminster Christian Academy, their record now sits at 12-10. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

On Westminster Christian Academy's side, George Chisholm spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Westminster Christian Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josiah Fesperman, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Harris McMullan also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Looking ahead, Augusta Prep will head out on the road to take on Monsignor Donovan Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.18 runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Westminster Christian Academy, they will host Brentwood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lions will need to watch out since the War Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.
