Football Game Preview: Bluffton Tigers vs. Adams Central Flying Jets

Bluffton hasn't had much luck against Adams Central recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will host the Flying Jets at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Bluffton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Churubusco 39-38. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Bluffton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Axton Beste out in front who rushed for 56 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. What's more, Beste posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August. Another rusher making a difference was Cooper Craig, who rushed for 102 yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bluffton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 224 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 188 rushing yards in seven consecutive games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Adams Central). They blew past Central Noble, posting a 70-13 victory. The Flying Jets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Adams Central's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Bluffton, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.

Bluffton took a serious blow against Adams Central in their previous meeting on October 10th, falling 47-17. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Tigers were down 26-3.
