Volleyball Game Preview: Grand Meadow Superlarks vs. Mabel-Canton Cougars

Grand Meadow is 1-9 against Mabel-Canton since October of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Superlarks will host the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Grand Meadow sitting on 17 straight wins and Mabel-Canton on seven.

While Grand Meadow's victory against Southland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Superlarks narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Rebels 3-2.

Grand Meadow was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 17-25, 25-16, 15-10.

If Spring Grove wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mabel-Canton, they should've done a better job of containing Livia Garness. The Cougars walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Lions on Thursday for which the team can thank Garness, who had six digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-22, 22-25, 25-19.

Grand Meadow's win bumped their record up to 19-1. As for Mabel-Canton, their victory bumped their record up to 27-3.
