Game recap: West Forsyth High School Football Team beats Davie

MOCKSVILLE, N.C. - After taking the lead in the fourth quarter, West Forsyth (Clemmons, N.C.) held on for a 15-10 victory over Davie (Mocksville, N.C.) on Saturday. The difference for the Titans was that Darion Slade ran for a touchdown.

After nabbing the lead on a field goal by Jonn Young, the War Eagles went into halftime with a 10-7 lead. The Titans took the lead for good with a touchdown run by Slade in the fourth quarter.

Despite scoring two points in the third, West Forsyth still trailed by one point going into the fourth quarter. But six points in the fourth helped WF pull out the victory.

With the win the Clemmons school extended its winning streak to six games. West Forsyth defeated R.J. Reynolds 39-0 last week.

Davie's only touchdown came on a 41-yard pass from Parker Correll to Ben Ellis in the second quarter.



The Titans had given up an average of 9.8 points prior to the contest.

The loss was the third in a row for Davie.

Davie (2-6) will play a 4A Conference 7 game against Parkland next week, while West Forsyth (8-1) will take on Reagan also in a 4A Conference 7 game.
