Football Recap: Kobe Embry and A'ron Lee Lead the Defense for Ragland Win

If Ider wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Ragland, they should've done a better job of containing A'Ron Lee. The Purple Devils blew past the Hornets 41-18 on Friday thanks in part to Lee, who rushed for 179 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 68 receiving yards and one touchdown. He showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 68 yards.

Kodi Embry was another key player, throwing for 243 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Ragland's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-5 otherwise.

The win made it two in a row for Ragland and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 22 points. As for Ider, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

As for Ider, they will face off against Gaston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
