Basketball Recap: Utopian Academy for the Arts Comes Up Short

Utopian Academy for the Arts was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 83-44 loss at the hands of the North Clayton Eagles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Clayton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaquavius Cox, who posted 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cadence Burch, who had 13 points.

Utopian Academy for the Arts' record now sits at 0-13. As for North Clayton, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.

Utopian Academy for the Arts will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on W D Mohammed at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for North Clayton, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Business Engineering Science Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Business Engineering Science Tech will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something North Clayton surely won't give up without a fight.
